Japanese New Year 2023
In honor of the Japanese New Year, we organized
A traditional, festive and unique event in collaboration with
Orshina Cultural Space - a home for Japanese events in Tel Aviv.
Japanese and Israeli creators gathered together at Orshina Studio
To share their knowledgde about the Japanese New Year with the audiance,
and sell their traditional creations and handicrafts.
In addition, the musician Chihiro Tazuro put on a traditional musical and singing performance, accompanied by the Butoh dancer Iris Samra,
and taught the audience a New Year's song in Japnaese.
Meet the Particiapnts
Furakawa Erina
A professional pastry chef who specializes in traditional Japanese and Western desserts. Owner of Peco Sweets.
Ilona Plot
Artist and illustrator, B.A holder of the visual communication department at Shenkar College. Owner of "Noh by Ilona". Explores the traditional and modern art of Japan, with an emphasis on Noh theater.
Nakamura Tomoko
Lives in Israel for many years, connecting Israeli and Japanese companies and founder of the New-IJ women's group. Tomoko's favorite hobby is Japanese food, and she conducts Japanese food workshops in Israel.
Miagawa-Edry Maiko
Japanese artist and graduate of the Tokyo Fashion School, designs and creates bags, fashion and related products influenced by Japanese culture.
Maiko combines new and traditional materials in her works and creates contemporary modern products with them.
